Friends for Hope is an organization of young adults in the Upper Rio Grande Valley dedicated to helping local children suffering from cancer. The mission of Friends for Hope is to raise fund for the Vannie E. Cook, Jr. Children’s Cancer and Hematology Clinic, provide volunteers to support the clinic staff, and to help create community awareness about the clinic and the needs of the young patients that it serves.
To support the mission, Friends for Hope holds two major fundraising events each year. The Fall Benefit concert is held in November, featuring top country performers with live and silent auctions, celebrating the 16th year in 2021. The Fishing Tournament is held in the summer.
Friends for Hope also hold various events for patients of the Clinic, including a September Carnival in honor of Childhood Cancer Month, annual Christmas Party, and various other events!
